Depot

Similar to a repository in Git. It is the place where all files and version history are stored.

"One project per Depot".

Perforce supports different types of Depots, including:

Main Depot:

• This is the primary repository for versioned files.

Workspace Depot:

• Users have their own workspaces (local copies of files) associated with the Main Depot. Workspaces allow users to make changes to files and submit them back to the Depot.

Stream Depot:

• Perforce Streams, a feature in Perforce, allow users to organize and manage different lines of development. Stream Depots are used to store these stream-based development lines.
